Laura Chenel’s Chèvre is
honored to receive two first
place awards for distinguished
cheesemaking from the American Cheese
Society 2011 competition.

Taking the top prizes are the classic
Laura Chenel’s Chèvre Fresh Log and
100% olive oil-marinated Cabecou.
Both winning cheeses, made in our
Sonoma creamery, competed against
the best Canadian and US cheeses
in their class.

A fresh cheese with mild flavor and soft, spreadable texture in the traditional French elongated shape. Laura Chenel’s Log is the original cheese, when sliced into rounds, breaded and baked at Chez Panisse, became the iconic California green salad with goat cheese.

Slice our log into rounds, cover with homemade bread crumbs, toasted walnuts or pecans, bake until browned and serve atop salad greens – and dream that you are at Chez Panisse sitting in those perfect seats at the front with light streaming in through the windows.

Pair: A dry Riesling Kabinett with aromatic, slate and mineral characteristics would be an interesting and pleasing pairing with the toasty cheese and crisp greens.
